A few questions Are drivers freely available for things like sound cards and nvidia cards? Old (ISA) Soundblaster cards do not seem to work. Supposedly they do, but I spent two or three solid days once trying to get them to work, without success. They worked fine on 2.4 kernels, but not on 2.6 kernels.

Nvidia, if you want us early adapters to trust your stuff, you are going to have to document and setup your Linux drivers better than that. After having to download an audio driver to get the network working (?!!!?) I worked my a** off to get sound working, using your "configure file" script lines.

XP and no sound - please help
Thought so, otherwise that would have been mentioned somewhere at least as one of the "improvements" of 1.2. Actually I was wrong... I had forgotten there *is* 3D sound out of the box if you have the same NVidia sound chipset that the Xbox has. But if you don't, no 3D sound without the 3rd party DLL..

NF7-S 2.0, Soundstorm and game issues
Muting then unmuting solves the problem, but it will invariably return :-( in looking at this, when the morse code was being generated, it sometimes took two series of mute/unmute clicks on the AUX before something "got fixed" and the sound stopped. This was the DLX nvidia sound chips on the a7n8x.

What I want to end up with is the sound coming through my desktop speakers AND my stereo speakers at the same time. I can accomplish this with a splitter to the green plug but I'm wondering if there's a way to use separate jacks...one for the stereo speakers and one for the desktop speakers?

only possible negative to the MSI dualie is that it uses a Via chipset, but given what i know so far, i'd still go with the MSI dualie (vs. the Tyan s2875s that i did get) Right now I use Gigabyte 7N400 Pro, with nForce2 chipset, raid0 and nVidia Sound Storm audio processing unit. I love this board!
